The Softball Manitoba Under-14 A Girls' Championship will be held in Brandon this weekend.
The host Westman Magic are joined by seven other teams at the Provincials, and will be in a four-team pool with the defending champion Winnipeg Lightning, Manitoba Thunder and South Interlake Phillies.
"We've beat all the teams that we have to face in our pool this year," said Magic coach Jason Slator, "We're feeling confident and we win two out of three and see what happens on Sunday, hopefully."
The top two teams from each pool will advance to Sunday's playoff round, with the final at Simplot Park slated for 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
"One things I've talked to our team all season about is describe a team as being a puzzle," added Slator, "Every person is a piece of the puzzle and if we can all together and do our job or fit together well, we'll have success."
The U14 Magic are currently 8-5-1 and sit in second-place in the Manitoba Super Ladies' Softball League standings, and also had strong showings at tournaments in Regina and, most recently, in Fargo this season.
The Senior B Women's Provincial Championship is also being held in Brando this weekend, with the host Magic, Southern Bandits and Winnipeg Lightning competing for the title.
Proceeds from the Provincials on Saturday will go to support the new Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex.
Meanwhile, Brandon teams have had tremendous success in the Softball Manitoba B Provincials this season.
The U10, U12, U14 and U16 Brandon Heat teams have all captured provincial titles in the last three weeks.
