Thunder Claim Top Spot in Pool A

Tesia Hrom allowed one hit and struck out 10 in four innings to lead
the Thunder to their win over the Angels Saturday afternoon.
  The Manitoba Thunder claimed top spot in Pool A at the Softball Manitoba U14 A Girls Championship with a 14-3 victory over the Manitoba Angels on the 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Simplot Park in Brandon.

  The Thunder broke open a 1-0 game with three runs in the 4th inning anf five runs in each of the 6th and 7th innings.

  Dana Zarn had two hits, a walk and scored three runs for the Thunder while Breanne Delorme had three hits and scored twice.

  The Thunder finish the round-robin with a 3-and-0 record and will face the Pool B Winner in the 1-vs-1 playoff game at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.

  The Angels finish second in the pool with a 2-and-1 record and will place in the 2-vs-2 game Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

   In the other game on the 1:00 p.m. draw Saturday, the Central Energy defeated the Eastman Wildcats 12-4.

  Eve Godais had three hits and scored two runs for Central, who finished with a 1-and-2 record.

  Eastman finished 0-and-3.

  Both teams were eliminated from playoff contention.
